MVCA FAST Tier System
TIER I - Compliant- Student has general questions about daily system navigation and academics (I.E. Logging onto OLS, Class Schedule, assignments etc.). The student is following MVCA rules and guidelines.
Tier II - Supports Identified- Teacher identifies areas where student needs support and notifies FAST (lack of progress, not logging in consistently, nor responding to kmail etc.). Family Academic Support Liaison (FASL)) contacts student and or LC to provide needed assistance and implement a Back On Track Plan (BOTP). The student is following MVCA rules and guidelines. (2 weeks or longer)
Tier III – Non Compliant with MVCA Policies – Students who have been unsuccessful using a Tier II BOTP and/or students who are in need of additional support. Tier III BOTP also have Family Engagement Points associated with them.
Tier IV – Non Compliant and Non Responsive to Tier III Outreach - Administrator Intervention and holistic review of students account, at Tier IV withdrawal is a possible outcome.

- The FASL/Connect Counselor can move a student into Tier III if little or no progress is shown after two weeks of being in Tier II.
- If a student is a highly at-risk student.
- Overall lack of progress and engagement
Tier IV – Non Compliant and Non Responsive to Tier III Outreach - Administrator Intervention and holistic review of students account, at Tier IV withdrawal is a possible outcome.
