Back on Track Plans (BOTP)
BOTP (Back On Track Plan) is a tool used by our FAST TEAM to assist students with getting back on track in their academic courses. Students are recommended by their teachers for a BOTP. Depending on the type of support needed students will fall into different levels of Tier Support. (For more detailed information on our Tier System please refer to the Services section The Tier System).
Types of BOTP (General & Academic)
Tier II– Students may be recommended by teachers for a General BOTP, these students will be in Tier II. Family Academic Support Liaisons work with students and learning coaches in these types of BOTP to modify behaviors and develop organizational skills to improve student success in their course work.
Student who are unsuccessful completing a Tier II BOTP will be upgraded to Tier III.
Tier III– Students in Tier III are on Academic based BOTP, they are required to participate in order to get back in good standing by following their plan daily and learning strategies to stay on top of their work. These types of BOTP include feedback and assignments from the student’s teachers which will assist students in raising their course grade.
At Tier III Back On Track Plans include FEP's (Family Engagment Points), students start with 5 FEP's which are used as motivation to stay engaged with your BOTP. Students can lose points for not following their BOTP, they can also earn points back for returning to compliance.
Students who lose FEP's down to 1 FEP will be upgraded to Tier IV. Tier IV involves administration review and possible withdrawal.
